Bon Annee Mes Ami

Oui, a poor attempt at the beautiful language called french but the gist of it is Happy New Year my friends. I wish you all a peaceful, prosperous and all that other jazz in the new year.

Now, allow me to digress a little. What is the big deal with new years anyway? Isn’t it really just a change of calendar? How many of us change with the new year? Let’s be sincere here. We’re all gonna rush to make new resolutions and as usual and fail to live up to them because we honestly don’t want to actually invest the time, energy and resources to achieve them.

Lets just call them for what they are, New year wishes.

Last year I had one major resolution which was, to stop living in fear, take giant leaps of faith and trust Yahweh much more. To say the least, my year was a heck of an adventure as i followed this resolution. I moved out of my parents home after 4years of being a non-starter, I got married to the most amazing woman since proverbs 31, I took a vacation in outside countries after 20 years of dreaming of getting on a jet airplane. Now to me, that was a useful resolution. So this year, I’m maintaining the same resolution, More faith, less fear, greater enjoyment. I believe it’s going to be a heck of a lot better than last year.

Whats your over riding resolution for the year?

Shalom

New Year resolutions are overrated. Be yourself and do what you need to do when you need to do it. And be blessed while you are at it.

    Happy New Year.

My resolution is in a way similar to yours — Stepping up in faith. This is a year of harvest.
