Don’t Get Mad, Get Even.
Aug 18th
This morning I was sitting in a Matatu (local commuter bus) seething, raging, crying. I’m frustrated and weary. See, everyone who reads this blog knows I have very lofty dreams, ridiculous dreams some of them.
But, Life!
It’s just kicking me in the nuts all the time! No breaks, no helping hands, no retreat, no surrender! I like to say I’m a billionaire in training but right now, I can’t even muster a dollar. Yes, I mean 1$. Talk about hopeless disparity between my reality and my dreams.
So anyways, I’m sitting in this matatu raging at God, the Universe, myself, the high school crush who never gave me time of day, President Obama, the birds, the bees and everything in between, when the oddest thought popped into my head.
A single thought so ridiculous in the context, I almost laughed out loud. Fortunately, my public sensibilities kicked in and I restrained myself from asking the lady seated next to me if she’d heard what I did.
It went something like this.
Me: “I’m so tired. Why can’t you give me a break, what more do you want from me? haven’t I given my best? When will my dreams come true, huh? Why are others less…(insert whatever More >
5 life lessons from my 1year old daughter
Aug 4th
I once watched a movie called “Baby Geniuses” which insinuated that children up till they reach the age of 2years are proverbial geniuses! The father of one of children in the story is obsessed with getting his daughter to tell him the secret of the universe before she turns two and becomes dumb!
But, I digress. My point is that you can learn a lot from children. I am constantly amazed just watching my daughter grow up. Over the past week, I’ve seen my daughter come from crawling around the house to walking with all the Swag of a fierce-some but drunk pirate(Jack Sparrow anyone?!) I feel so proud and blessed to see her developing so well.
Anyways, still more digressing. The point I’m trying to make is that I’ve learned some important truths about growing and succeeding in life from watching my daughter over the past few months and I’d like to share my thoughts with you.
1. Don’t be afraid of fallingMy daughter falls on average a hundred times a day. For real. Whether its walking, playing on the bed or sofa, whatever it is she’s doing, you can be sure she’s going to fall a gazillion times in a day. In More >
17 key differences between you and the rich.
Jun 29th
So I hate to admit it but i’m not rich. Phew, there, I’m out of the closet. Apparently tho, If you took the time to really sIt down and study rich people closely, you would come to the other shocking revelation of the day.
Rich people aren’t really any better than you! Yes, they aren’t smarter, more beautiful or even as fun as you. So why are they rich and your not? Well according to T. Harv Eker, bestselling author of “The Secrets of the Millionaire Mind“, there are 17 distinct differences between you and the rich, which are:
- Rich people believe: “I create my life.” Poor people believe: “Life happens to me.”
- Rich people play the money game to win. Poor people play the money game to not lose.
- Rich people are committed to being rich. Poor people want to be rich.
- Rich people think big. Poor people think small.
- Rich people focus on opportunities. Poor people focus on obstacles.

Quick question. How’s your Mindspace?
Apr 29th
The other day I was speaking to my cousin who is one of the closest people to me and he shared a very interesting revelation. You see he has a dream to own an Audi S8 which costs over 120,000$ and thats before the local revenue boys even ask for your shipping documents. Not to mention he wants to have a net worth of about 5million dollars in the next 5years. Now thats a BHAG!
Now, he realised that to actually achieve these dreams, he needs to have a much larger Mindspace than what he currently has. What is Mindspace you ask? Well some call it mind set but i say it’s the capacity or scale of the positive and empowering thoughts and beliefs you have.
Basically as long as your thoughts and beliefs are congruent with your dreams, you will achieve them. In my cousins case, if his thoughts and beliefs allow him to comprehend flying to Germany to customize the machine he wants, wire the money to Audi, put it on a plane to deliver it, give URA another cheque of UGX 100Million, then reach into his wallet and pull out another UGX 250,000 to fill up the gas tank, well lets More >
Apprentice and the 7C’s
Mar 24th
It’s almost an obsession of mine to understand how to be a super achiever in my own life and this blog is dedicated to sharing with you what I learn. Brian Tracy is one of the foremost success gurus out there and a personal favorite of mine. He says success comes when you have these seven C’s in firmly in place. Here are Tracy’s 7C’s for your success.
After having studied top achievers and peak performers over the past 25 years, I’ve concluded that these unique men and women, have in most cases, mastered what I call the Seven C’s of Success.
1. Clarity—Eighty percent of success comes from being clear on who you are, what you believe in and what you want.
2. Competence—You can’t climb to the next rung on the ladder until you are excellent at what you do now.
3. Constraints—Eighty percent of all obstacles to success come from within. Find out what is constraining, in you or your company, and deal with it.
4. Concentration—The ability to focus on one thing single-mindedly and see it through until it’s done takes more character than anything else
5. Creativity—Flood your life with ideas from many sources. Creativity needs to be exercised like a muscle; if you More >
A blessed & exciting 2010
Jan 7th
Hey everyone, Happy new year to you all and welcome back. It’s great to be alive and back again for a new year. You could be sick, in jail, or dead or dying but nope, here you are reading this blog. So lets thank the Master for life and another chance to do things better.
The beginning of the year is a particularly intriguing time. It’s perhaps the only time in the year (except for our birthdays) that we really take time to reflect on the past and future seriously. Thats why resolutions are generally made at the start of the year.
For the last three years I’ve been in the habit of not making resolutions. I find that new year resolutions generally set me up for failure. They are usually not made with the right convictions and then followed up with really weak efforts. By end of March, I’m caught up in the waves of daily life and nearly forgotten most of my resolutions . Then the end of the year comes and I beat up myself because I didn’t even make a scratch in my resolutions. Does that sound familiar?
My solution to this crap cycle is to have a constant set of More >

And finally, Millionaire Habit 9: Respect Money
May 27th
So we have finally come to the end of our series on the 9 Habits of Millionaires as i understood them from Adam Khoo’s e-book. Lets dive right into what is probably the most important of all the habits as it directly relates to money and how we see it.
Habit 9: Respect Money
Do you really respect money? If i was to ask you what you thought of money, I’d get several varying answers many of which would show an unhealthy view towards money. The most common beliefs about money are:
- Money is the root of all evil
- Money is elusive and fleeting
- Having money will cause me more problems
- Rich people are greedy, selfish and unscrupulous
- Poverty is a virtue
- Money will change you(into a bad person)
- You have to work extremely hard to make money
- If i become wealthy
- etc
Most of us want and desire to have lots more money but subconsciously, we walk around with these negative associations towards money and this causes a conflict. Essentially what happens is that we sabotage ourselves from getting money. For example most of us have been brought up to believe that money is the root of all evil. As such we feel guilty about money. So we unconsciously do things to More >
Millionaire Habit 8: Turn Failure into Success
May 25th
Shalom blogren. Its time again to continue on our quest to learn the 9 habits of Millionaires. We are close to the end of our series. Today we look at something particularly difficult for most of us. And that is:
Habit 8: The Ability to turn failure into success
To most of us, failure Is a bad word. Infact, it’s an f-word. We don’t like to fail, so much so that most of us never try to do anything just so we won’t leave any opportunity for that f-word to appear. But this is the greater distinction between us and Millionaires. Most people think that millionaires generally never fail, I mean how else could they be millionaires, right? We’re not millionaires because logically, we’ve failed.
Here’s a truth for you. Millionaires fail a lot more than even you and I. Most millionaires have failed so many times it’s ridiculous. You all heard of Thomas Edison who failed 10,000 times in trying to make a working light bulb. Good grief, I’d have gotten the hint after the 10th time! But millionaires fail more than most of us because they inherently do a lot more, risk a lot more than most of us. The key More >
Millionaire Habit 7: Being 100% Committed.
May 22nd
Alright, as we continue our series on the 9 habits of Millionaires, I’d like to ask you a question. Do you really want to be rich? I’m sure your answer is a resounding YES! I mean who wouldn’t? But then, if I ask you, are you committed to being rich? The answer might not be so simple, and in most cases, it’s actually a sheepish “Well No, not really”. This leads us straight into our next habit.
Habit 7: Being 100% Committed.
Millionaires or successful people of any kind are 100% totally committed to achieving their dreams. I personally realized long ago that I merely wished to be financially free. You see, when you think about what it takes to actually become a millionaire, exercising all the previous habits we’ve seen so far, I’m actually not too happy about the hard work and sacrifice that goes with it. If it fell in my lap, that would be great but otherwise, it’s just a nice fantasy to cling onto.
To become a millionaire is simple but certainly not an easy process. I mean, most of these habits we’ve looked at aren’t really rocket science. But living them out on a daily basis isn’t so More >
